Arava Sand Storms

About This Project

Living in the Arava desert valley, sand storms are a natural part of our lives. We experience them several times a year. In the brightness of day, suddenly an almost-complete darkness will descend on the desert, a result of the high density of sand particles swirling in the air. Although being caught outdoors in a sand storm is not the most pleasant experience, it is a magnificent opportunity to photograph the desert in a very different and hazy light.
